Kurdistan High Council for Medical Specialties Honors Professor Mohammed Sami Al Abadie
Following the resounding success of the First Iraqi Medical Congress held in London on June 14-15, the Kurdistan High Council for Medical Specialties has officially honored Congress President, Professor Mohammed Sami Al Abadie.
The Council formally commended the significant efforts undertaken to gather leaders, scientists, and senior Iraqi physicians from both the diaspora and Iraq. The event was a landmark occasion, with attendance exceeding 1,000 prominent figures.
The two-day program featured keynote lectures, nine workshops dedicated to discussing ongoing health challenges within Iraq, and an exhibition featuring 30 Iraqi medical and academic institutions.
The Congress was celebrated as a "golden opportunity" to build bridges across three generations of Iraqi physicians. It established a vital foundation for communication and collaboration between medical and leadership experts from around the globe, drawing attendees from the United States, Britain, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, the Arab Gulf, and Iraq.
In acknowledging this achievement, the recognition highlighted Professor Al Abadie's distinguished standing as a consultant physician and leader within British hospitals, as well as his role as a professor at British medical schools. The tribute noted his extensive qualifications, including Fellowship certifications from the Royal Colleges of Physicians in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and London, in addition to his PhD.
